Hit the books this weekend and dive into the newly released tome by Thomas O'Brien dubbed American Modern. O'Brien has crafted his art throughout the years with his decidedly clean lined, masculine interiors. In my interview with Design Guide this past week I mentioned the "new American look" where we are incorporating every period and style into a room but still manage to make it look clean and unfussy while be fresh and current, mixing hi end antiques with low end mass produced goods. Thomas O'Brien may be forefather of this particular look, with the launch of his designer showroom Aero and then releasing collections for Target, many of which grace my own home - love his linen collection there!
